Sugar, I call Stevia my sugar
I never maybe my sugar,
Stevia substitute is so fine,
Way better than honey,
Worth all your money,
For baking cakes when it’s sunny,
Yes, you can eat all you want
That Stevia sugar o’mine
Being in your 20s and having to change your eating habits is easier said than done. However, after I was diagnosed with MS, I decided to change my life forever. I am not going to die sooner than anyone else (unless a piano falls on my head), therefore, I made a deal with myself that my life needs a fresh and healthy perspective. However, this new relationship with a healthier lifestyle meant breaking up with my other disease – a crazy addiction for eating sweets.
After reading some frightening information about sugar and how bad it can be for the overall health, I had to find a decent substitute. My research was done when I came across Stevia. I found out that this is a herb that originates from Paraguay (Central America), where the natives used it for more than 200 years. In order to produce Stevia packs, manufactures simply boil the herb and extract the liquid that is later on used to create Stevia packs. If you are a coffee addict like myself, you can easily find Stevia packs to make your coffer healthier and sweet. However, I do not use Stevia for my coffee alone, I also use it to bake cakes, muffins and of course cookies!
If you look at the bigger picture, the number one benefit of Stevia is to eliminate sugar and all forms of sugar such as dextrose, fructose and glucose from your diet. Since I have started using Stevia, I’ve lost around 15 kg and I even fee better in regard to my disease, therefore I decided to share my experience and explain to you why you should immediately find stevia packs and integrate them in your daily diet!
Now that you know something more about the origins of my favourite superhero – The Super Sugar Substitute Stevia, may I interest you in showing you some of my favourite and most delicious Stevia recipes?

Preheat your oven to 180 C and grease the cookie sheet that is inside. Then, take a medium mixing bowl and mix together the flour, salt and baking powder. Take another bigger bowl and mix the eggs, the stevia powder and the vanilla with an electrical mixer. As you are mixing them together, add the butter and continue mixing until you get a texture that is smooth and creamy. Add the flour to the mixture, half a cup at a time, and stir it well. Next, add the chocolate chips and add the butter. Bake them for 25 minutes, until the cookies get that golden brown colour. You will taste the best cookies in your life – trust me!

Start by putting the eggs in a bowl. Add the 4 teaspoons organic honey and 1 teaspoon of Stevia Sweetener. Stir the mix for 1 minute. Then, put the 3 teaspoons of tartar cream and stir again. Next, you need to add the butter, because everything tastes better with butter! Last but not least, add the chocolate chips and pour into the muffin moulds. You can always put some extra chocolate chips on top of the muffins for decoration. Cook them for 10 minutes at 180 degrees ºC and Voila! – Your healthy Stevia muffins are done!
Instant Stevia Chocolate Cake
There is nothing tastier than a chocolate chip cake, especially if it can be done in only 5 minutes! You will need 2 tablespoons of white whole wheat flour, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder, ¼ teaspoon of baking powder, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon Stevia, 3 tablespoons of skimmed milk, ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of sugar-free chocolate chips. Coat the coffee mug with cooking spray. Then add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, Stevia, canola oil, milk, vanilla and of course the sugar-free chocolate chips. Mix them for 1 minute and put it in the microwave for 50 seconds. Let it cool for 5 minutes and then you can serve it! This is my favourite desert that has save d me many times when unexpected guests arrive.
Several new studies have shown that most Australians are to experience serious dental problems before turning 30. Scientists say that the majority of oral problems occur due to high intake of sugary foods. However, there is more to gum disease, bad breath, and tooth decay than bad eating habits. All of this also happens when people do not visit their dentist on a regular basis and underestimate the importance of these check-ups.
A good dentist offers both necessary and innovative services as well as being available 24/7, meaning offering after-hours dental service. As Murphy’s law would have it, dental emergencies happen when you least expect them. And it is then and there when you are mostly unsure whether you should visit a dentist or not. The most straightforward answer in regard to this dilemma is: You should always turn to reliable after hours dental services, because as every expert out there will tell you – Prevention is better than cure.
Sometimes, from a simple physical injury, you can get the nerve of a tooth damaged without even knowing. When this happens, an immediate check up is a must, because the consequences of the postponing can be detrimental to your dental health.
A mild pain and sensitivity to hot and cold drinks is also all too often a disregarded symptom. Sleep apnea, chronic migraines, pain in the law jaw – all of these symptoms can indicate that you might have injured yourself during sleep or your gums have become incredibly sensitive. Bad breath is also an indication that your teeth need both deep cleaning and repairing.
Let’s say that you’ve decided to take every symptom seriously and visit a dental clinic as soon as possible when something is wrong, I suppose that you’d like to know more about what these clinics offer after-hours. Although it is not a common practice for any clinic to perform surgeries in the little hours of the night, you can surely get a decent check up and a diagnosis. Usually, dentists have
it all sorted out beforehand: the manner in which they can be reached in case of emergency and who will take their place if they are unable to answer the call for urgent treatment.
The most important thing is to gain information about a clinic that can quickly respond to your needs, keep good track of your medical history and that has a paying policy that suits you.

He talked with amusement about how the SMSF Australia system is the best and we should definitely consider being a part of it. Well, let me tell you that got us thinking and we started making plans about starting our own SMSF. And yes, that turned out to be the best decision we’ve ever made – we are now able to control and manage our investments, retirement planning and build a safe future for our family.
Whether we want to admit it or not, we are a population of sugar addicts. The average Australian consumes more than 27 teaspoons of sugar daily and the recommended daily intake (according to World Health Organization) for adults with normal BMI is 6 teaspoons. It seems as if we are completely out of control and if we do not do something about it soon, we risk obesity, oral problems and bad eating habits.
Luckily, there is a way to decrease sugar intake without feeling deprived. There are many natural sweeteners that taste better than sugar and have none of the side-effects mentioned. One such is xylitol.
This natural sugar replacement is as sweet as regular sugar, but has considerably less calories than sugar and is way healthier. It belongs to the group of sugar alcohols and is naturally formed in many fruits and vegetables such as oats, sugar cane, berries, mushrooms, etc., however, it can also be extracted from birch trees, corn husks or any other plant that naturally contains xylitol. It is available in the form of crystallized white powder and you can order xylitol Australia wide from almost any reputable and well-equipped online health food shop.
As a complex carbohydrate, xylitol is slowly absorbed in the body; it has no effect on blood sugar or insulin levels making it safe for diabetics to use. It is also a great sugar alternative for people with weight-loss problem. It is low in calories and reduces the risk of obesity, a disease of the modern day which causes digestive problems and slows down the metabolism.
Furthermore, unlike sugar, xylitol improves dental health. The cavity-causing bacteria in the mouth feed on sugar creating strong acids which dissolve minerals from tooth enamel making it weak and vulnerable to cavities. Xylitol helps prevent the growth of harmful bacteria, therefore minimising the risks of tooth decay and gum disease. Besides having anti-bacterial features, xylitol is widely known for its probiotic properties – it can help boost the production of good bacteria in human body important for metabolic health. Moreover, it can protect bones and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
Some studies even show that this sugar substitute has anti-ageing properties; it can help increase the production of collagen which improves skin elasticity. This finding may be one of the main reasons growing number of women order xylitol Australia wide.
A little bit of sugar won’t hurt, but exceeding recommended sugar intake on a daily basis can increase blood sugar levels, increase risk of cardiovascular disease, and make you frustrated and stressed. It also affects the immune system – it raises the insulin levels and prevents the body from absorbing important minerals and vitamins. Moreover, harmful bacteria and yeast feed on sugar what can create imbalance that makes the body more vulnerable to infections and illnesses. So, instead of intoxicating your body with sugar, switch to xylitol.
Regular dental examination is extremely important for your oral health; it provides detailed information about the state of your teeth so that you can prevent as well as early detect any kind of potential diseases. This is crucial as it can save you unnecessary painful toothaches or worst case scenario – teeth extraction or any other painful and costly treatment. For that purpose, make sure you have your teeth examined and cleaned at least once a year or more if possible. Plus, non-dental conditions such as osteoporosis, vitamin deficiency, diabetes, etc., can be also discovered and treated early with a regular dental examination.
The condition of your mouth reflects your overall health and well-being as well. Healthy and well-maintained teeth are essential for normal functioning of your digestive system and whole body in general. Dental examination will detect any signs of cavities and cracks as well as gum disease. For example, the early detection of gum disease can prevent the spreading of bacteria and infections to other parts of the body and will save you from extensive and costly treatments like root canal therapy or even surgery. When left untreated, it can lead to heart problems and stroke. Regular dental checks can also identify early stages of oral cancer enabling quick intervention and a successful treatment.
During the dental examination, your dentist should give you a professional advice on how to properly clean your teeth and maintain them in a healthy condition. He should also suggest you a well-balanced diet that will minimize the risk of cavities and any other teeth-related problems. Moreover, he should also examine them for any signs of plaque or tartar build up. Tartar creates due to extensive amounts of plaque on the teeth and it is extremely difficult to get rid of since it can’t be removed with brushing and flossing only, but it requires dental interventions and treatments. Special tools for scaling your teeth are used during this process and after all, it’s been done, you will have your teeth polished.
A healthy smile is a reflection of natural beauty. Having your teeth regularly examined and cleaned can only have positive effects – it will certainly brighten up your smile and remove tea, wine and coffee stains. You will also get rid of bad breath which is usually caused by poor hygiene or gum disease. Moreover, practising good oral hygiene will also reduce the risk of losing your teeth prematurely as poor oral hygiene destroys the gums and allows for bacteria to invade the tooth’s root.
While fashion in general is an ever evolving matter, there are some pieces of clothing and accessories that you simply need to pay more attention to and really invest in both time and money. These are mainly pieces that you would combine with all your clothes and shoes and would consider wearing on multiple occasions. Talking about winter season, these would include your winter equipment for cold weather such as a scarf, gloves, hat, the never-getting-old poncho and a good quality handbag winter style.
However, just because this is a set of ladies fashion accessories winter can’t pass without, it doesn’t mean you should get whatever you first stumble upon in stores or online offers. Instead, decide you’re going to invest a little more this time in the name of quality, durability and timeless sophistication.
A good quality scarf made of cashmere or high quality cotton is the type of accessory you first think of when you leave the house for any occasion; whether it’s to protect your neck from the cold wind or to place it over your shoulders along with a nice dress for a night out, we all reach for it. You should have exactly three scarf styles in your ladies fashion accessory closet: one mono-coloured (make it either black, beige or red), one with print of your choice (leopard, flowers or something similar) and one completely decorated with either letters, geometric figures or some other colourful design.
The only type of gloves that is worth investing a considerable amount of money in, are leather gloves. Leather goes well with everything and every style, even sport elegance. Make sure you get two pairs: one mono-coloured, preferably black or dark brown, and one colourful, maybe red or beige. General rule of styling: don’t go for colours with short life span on things you want to last for a lifetime.
3. A hat
While the beanie is the all-times accessory connected with winter, it’s not the type of hat you can wear as the ultimate style element. As a styling addition to your combination, you need a wide brim hat; one made of a warm, cozy material that screams winter warmth, preferably in black or beige. The hat needs to be easy to combine with your handbag and shoes, so don’t wander too much with the colours.
4. A poncho
The poncho has always been present on the fashion scene; it’s just that these last few seasons it’s a little more trending than ever. Wear it over a very warm knitwear, or over a leather jacket; the poncho’s purpose is to provide a stylish and very fashionable cover as well as protection from wind and cold weather. Have in mind you’ll have to combine the poncho with your leather jacket, your boots and handbag, so make sure you pick one in beige or black and use it for more than one season.
5. The handbag
No confusion here – a good quality handbag with a sturdy construction and a good material like leather for instance, is a no-discussion topic when it comes to investing in clothes. Just make sure you pick one in a colour you can combine with most of your shoes, jackets and other accessories and do not compromise on the quality just to save a few dollars. Trust me, that would be a terrible waste of money.
How nice would it be to be able to change your furniture as often as you like? A new trend pops-up on the interior design scene and you have it delivered to your door and incorporated in your overall room design in the blink of an eye. Yes, that would be amazing, but also pretty expensive and rather time-consuming. Instead, how about carefully choosing the elements that are going to be the base of your room design and then simply altering their appearance in accordance to the latest trends and desires? That would be much less stressful in both aspects – time and money. And while on this part of home furniture lessons, the pieces on which you should pay a considerable amount of attention when you buy them are the ones that are going to stay in your home for many years, no matter your taste.
Wall art and framed photos don’t have to be the only decorations you can use to beautify the walls in your rooms; especially if you live in a small apartment, or you simply don’t enjoy the luxury of spacious rooms in your house. In that case you definitely need to turn to another type of decoration, the type that gives you the sense of a larger space and breaks the monotony of an otherwise boring white wall: mirrors.
You can do wonders to your interior design using mirrors: you can create the illusion of a wider room, or when you simply can’t find another more suitable decorative element (which I hardly doubt, but hey, perfectionists know best) a mirror will fill in perfectly. Speaking from personal experience, my bedroom is rather small and I kind of hate small spaces. So, I added a large round mirror with metal frame; it fitted in with the whole ambiance perfectly and since it’s facing the windows it creates a feeling that the room has no walls. I kind of liked playing with mirrors in my design, so I chose a few other design ideas to try out. Take a look.
A Mirror in the Outdoor Area
I have a patio and a lovely seating set in my small backyard. I spend most of the spring/summer days and nights there with friends, so I wanted that space to look really cozy and comfortable. Adding a mirror just above the coffee table and the sofas creates the perfect lighting effect by reflecting the light from the candlelights that are hanging from the ceiling.
Mirror on the Windows
I wouldn’t suggest you disturbed a perfect view from a glass wall or large windows by attaching a mirror on it. But, if your room design doesn’t make any sense and has no focus, then this can be a great idea: place the mirror on the windows so it can create a focal point; that way when you sit in that room, your eyes will instantly turn towards the mirror.
In the Hallway
The hallway doesn’t have to be the boring, narrow space where you pass through to enter your home. Here you need a large mirror; whether you choose a round or a rectangular one, it needs to be large enough so you can see yourself entirely before you leave the house. Pay attention to the frame though; make it blend with the rest of the design in colour and style.
Make Small Kitchens Look Large
Kitchen cabinets offer one large advantage: you can cover them with mirrors and create this large mirror surface that will reflect the ambiance of the space facing it. This is especially convenient for small kitchens which you want to make look larger and more spacious. However, the kitchen shouldn’t be surrounded by 4 walls; there’s no point having a white surface facing the mirrors.
A Touch of Elegance in the Bathroom
Be creative here; aside from the vanity mirrors which are a necessity, you can attach one large mirror right beside the bathtub for a dose of elegance and sophistication. Think Venetian-style mirrors; metal frame and a rich shape. And don’t let me get started on all the “plus” benefits from having a mirror in the bathroom.
More and more people are viewing cleaning products in different ways, and by this I mean that it wasn’t that long ago we didn’t really need to read what was in the ingredients. I certainly didn’t really see the need to read what kind of chemicals were inside my cleaning products. It was just something that never really occurred to me. In fact, I’m pretty sure nearly everyone was using these products without thinking twice about what was inside them. There is no doubt that nowadays we look a little further into what we’re using in our homes and just how great they are.
When you use quality products you save a lot of time, which means that you actually save time to do other things. When the quality of a product or solution is just not that great it takes a lot longer to get the result you want. This is especially important for those of you who have busy schedules. Having the right products can really make all the difference. You really want to make sure that you are also getting the right protection against bacteria and germs. When you use low quality products you might not be disinfecting everything like you think you are. If your cleaning products don’t have the right ingredients to remove all those germs then you may be harboring a lot of bacteria.
There are some great brands out there that make quality window cleaning products that are eco friendly but if you want to avoid any chemicals at all I’ll also give you a recipe for an all natural window cleaner and it also acts as an all natural mirror cleaner. These are all things I have tried and tested personally and use in my home all the time.
Vileda is a brand that I keep coming back to when I need to get the job done quickly and efficiently. The first product I always reach for is the ‘Magical’ cleaner. It is one of the best quality window cleaning products on the market these days. I use this stuff everywhere! I use it on my windows as well as in the shower. It’s really effective at getting rid of soap buildup and anything else that might be in your shower. The second product I always reach for is the Vileda glass cloth. It is such a great product and it is a great way to wipe down your windows without using any chemicals at all. Just rinse your window with some water and wipe away any marks.
Now onto my all natural recipe. It is both environmentally friendly as well as family friendly, and it is a great alternative if you have little kids. To make this recipe you will only need to mix up a few different ingredients. You will need two cups of water, half a cup of white or cider vinegar, a quarter of a cup of rubbing alcohol (preferably with 70% concentrate) and last but not least, one to two drops of orange essential oil to give it that great smell (essential oil is optional though). All you need to do is fill up a spray bottle with these ingredients, give it a good mix and you are ready to go. This is also great in combination with the glass cloth I mentioned earlier.
Hopefully, after reading my recipes and the products I have recommended you feel inspired to take better care of the environment, your home, your family and yourself by using safe, good quality products.
Plates may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you talk about China, but they definitely are a significant mark of their cultural history. It’s a known fact that porcelain dinnerware and vases made by the skillful hands of Chinese craftsmen are among the most expensive decorative elements you can buy for your home and also, among the most precious auction pieces collectors fight over. So, what makes these pieces so valuable and so desirable by interior-design obsessed women over the world and collectors who give insane amounts just to have them in their armors of valuables?
In the first place, it’s the history these pieces carry with them. Among the most common elements on auction shelves and stores are Chinese plates. Because they’re so unusual and decorated so perfectly and creatively, these plates are mainly used for decoration instead for any eating purpose. And it is quite understandable, actually. However, what makes them so special is the fact that they’ve managed to survive for so many years not just as antiques, but also as a tradition and a cultural mark of one very rich and progressive nation.
- It all begins with porcelain, which originated in China somewhere in 1600-1046 BC during the time of the Shang Dynasty. Throughout the years, perfectly designed and quality material pieces were exported in the Islamic corners of the world.
- The phase that placed Chinese porcelain on the world stage is the rule of the Song Dynasty, when emperors established factories whose main goal was to produce porcelain for the royal family, since at that time, Chinese plates and other dinnerware were extremely expensive and considered a luxury for the highest level of society.
- During the rule of the famous Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the easily recognizable blue-white pattern that people mainly associate with fine china along with the decorative painting over glaze technique, become widely known and asked for.
- Finally, during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Europe became the export destination for Chinese porcelain products. Along with the enormous demand for all types of pots, cups and saucers, Europe embraced the tea drinking techniques coming from the Far East. Of course, all that had a market trade motive: every drink needs a special cup for drinking, which means a greater demand for Chinese products.
When it comes to choosing some of these valuable pieces, it all comes down to your taste preferences and decorative needs. The most popular ones are those with the blue and white colour pattern – the classic Chinese dinnerware. Now, since these plates and vases and other pieces became so popular in Europe and the rest of the world, people started replicating them or producing something similar.
France became the leading competitor to China with their soft-paste porcelain which doesn’t have kaolin in it like Chinese porcelain does. Germany produces hard-paste porcelain and they mainly put the accent on producing figurines. England leads in pottery made from bone china.
Thanks to all these facts, you can now know which product is of the best quality when you choose yours. As for collectors, the offer of antique and vintage china is so wide you can choose according to your budget and collection needs. Make a wise investment.
Okay ladies, if you thought that the tons of makeup you put on your face will make you look younger – you are fooling yourself. The best foundation you could ever wear is a glowing and healthy skin. Well, looking and being forever 21 wouldn’t be such a bad thing, right?
There are many skincare treatments that promise a young and healthy skin but some of them can be unsafe and damage your skin. However, the microdermabrasion facial treatment is a non-invasive procedure that offers many benefits with no downtime. It exfoliates gently the outer layer of skin leaving a smooth felling to it. Furthermore, it improves the skin complexion by inducing collagen production which leads to the glowy skin you are after.
The microdermabrasion facial treatment is totally painless and many celebrities use it to improve their sun damaged and acne-prone skin. During the treatment mature and damaged cells are removed which promotes the creation of new skin cells that improve the skin’s texture and make it look younger and healthier. It is also great for treating enlarged pores, acne scars as well as unsightly stretch marks.
There are two basic types of microdermabrasion facial treatment: crystal and diamond.
During crystal microdermabrasion an exfoliation machine shoots natural mini-crystals across the skin’s surface which remove the damaged outer skin layer.
Diamond microdermabrasion, as its name implies, makes use of a diamond tip applicator to remove dead skin cells. Different diamond tips can be used depending on the type and damage of the skin. This type of treatment is perfect for treating sensitive skin areas such as those around the eyes and nose.
The microdermabrasion facial treatment is a versatile procedure that offers great benefits for all skin types and colours. It is a very safe treatment that causes no skin damage like discolouration or scaring and full recovery is achieved after just one day. It is a great anti-ageing treatment that reduces fine lines and wrinkles leaving you face rejuvenated and refreshed.
